Great Lakes Mall Sweetens its World With the Addition of Shelby’s Sugar Shop,
A New and Whimsical Confectionary
New Concept Opens December 2 with Classic and Craft Candies and Sweets
MENTOR, OHIO (December 1, 2017) – Great Lakes Mall today announced the addition of a fun and whimsical new confectionary that will bring classic and craft candies and sweets to the retail center. Shelby’s Sugar Shop™ presents a colorful, curious and dynamic environment that will delight children and adults alike, as a spirited young girl named Shelby journeys from a picturesque country setting to the heart of a big city, enjoying the sweetest parts of life along the way.
Tony Pestyk, General Manager of Great Lakes Mall, said: “Shelby’s Sugar Shop is just the kind of fun-loving and adventurous experience that everyone can get behind this holiday season and beyond. Shelby’s offers everyday wonder at Great Lakes Mall and allows us to further diversify our tenancy to provide a dynamic mix of retail options for our guests. We’re looking forward to seeing the faces of adults and children light up as they interact within the retail experience and indulge in the sweet treats.”
Shelby’s will offer sweets to entice a variety of shoppers, from classic and nostalgic candies to craft sweets and chocolates, including premium chocolates and candies from Brandt’s Candies, Inc., a family-owned, family-run chocolate shop in Willoughby, Ohio. All Shelby’s locations will also feature premium, “cold brew” chocolates from Wild Ophelia, including chocolate coffee bites in sea salt caramel latte, Mexican vanilla and jet black flavors. Wild Ophelia was created by Vosges Haut-Chocolat founder, Katrina Markoff, to encourage, educate and propel American high school and college girls who have entrepreneurial dreams in food.
Within the retail environment, Shelby’s transition from rural landscape to bustling cityscape is marked by large-scale bridge installations and animated vignettes. A playful coloring book theme is also prevalent throughout the brand identity, as well as within the in-store décor and interactive experiences. Sweets will be available in packaged as well as bulk form, with a variety of fun containers to stuff including a Shelby’s-themed, exclusive lunchbox.
Shelby’s is located near Center Court within Great Lakes Mall. To learn more about Shelby’s Sugar Shop, including store hours, visit www.ShelbysSugarShop.com.
